Vietnam Jan FDI inflows rise 6.8% to US$1.61b: statistics workplace

[HANOI] Vietnam obtained US$1.61 billion in overseas direct funding (FDI) in January, up 6.8 per cent from a 12 months earlier, authorities information launched on Saturday exhibits.

FDI pledges – which point out the scale of future FDI disbursements – elevated 4.2 per cent within the 12 months to US$2.1 billion, the Basic Statistics Workplace (GSO) stated in a press release.

Of the pledges, 75.4 per cent would go to manufacturing and processing, whereas 11.3 per cent are to be invested in fuel, water and electrical energy distribution, the GSO stated.

Singapore was the highest supply of FDI pledges within the interval, adopted by Hong Kong and France.
